The 57-year-old Ah Jie took to her socials to share the sad news yesterday (Dec 1).

Zoe Tay Mourns Passing Of Her 88-Year-Old Mum: "She Taught Me To Be Gentle With The World"

Yesterday (Dec 1), Zoe Tay shared on Instagram that her mother had passed away. She was 88.

With a photo of her holding her mum's hand in a beach resort, the 57-year-old said: "She never said 'I love you', yet placed love into every tiny moment of life."

"With a lifetime of kindness, she taught me to be gentle with the world," said Ah Jie.

The actress added that although her longing for her mother is silent, it “deepens day after day”.

"Mum, may your journey onward be peaceful," she wrote, concluding her post with the hashtags #MissingYou, #GratefulForYourNurturing and #TheGiantInMyHeart in the post.

Earlier in June this year, Zoe dedicated a post to celebrate her mother’s 88th birthday.

“Happy birthday to my dearest mummy,” she wrote at that time. “Love you so so much.”

May you rest in peace, Mama Tay.

“I must have been blessed for three lifetimes to be able to meet you. Thank you for all you’ve given," wrote Ah Jie back in June.
