Yishun Is The Coolest Place In S’pore… According To The NEA App

Is it just us, or has this heatwave in Singapore been dragging on longer than ever?

But it seems there is one area on our little red dot getting a slight respite from the sweltering heat.

Yishun.

Yes, really.

A picture posted to Reddit by netizen AgileComparison3967 on Tuesday (Jul 1) showed most of the island heating up with temperatures of at least 28.5°C.

Yet for some reason, Yishun was almost four degrees cooler at 24.8°C.

The picture appears to be a screenshot from The National Environment Agency's (NEA) MyENV app.

In the comments, AgileComparison3967 also joked that “Yishun and Pulau Ubin have some magic of pulling the coolest weather while others struggle”.

Pulau Ubin had a temperature of 26°C.

Disgruntled netizens, many of whom, like this writer, have been complaining about the humidity for months, quickly offered their theories.

“Yishun’s sensors are probably faulty,” read a comment while another wrote, “Yishun gaining karma points for all the other drama they've endured”.

A netizen claiming to stay in Yishun had the funniest response of all.

“Remember when all the crazy things were going on and they said to build a wall around Yishun? Yeah, we built a dome with air-conditioning,” he wrote.

Dear Yishun, be a good neighbour and share some of that air conditioning, please?
