Lady Gaga’s S'pore Concerts Reportedly Inspired Resignations In China

During her four-night Mayhem World Tour stop at Singapore’s National Stadium, Lady Gaga didn’t just have her Little Monsters screaming to her hits , she dished out some heartfelt advice for her them

“It’s so important to be yourself, but its also so important to work hard at being yourself. It’s okay to value who you are and fight for you believe in”.

Well, it seems the 39-year-old singer’s message hit hard and reportedly sparked mass resignations in China.

A netizen, allegedly a high school teacher, shared on Xiaohongshu, that Mother Monster gave her the push to quit her job.

“Working in China’s education system made me feel like a caged bird, working long hours, even on Sundays. I just couldn’t take it anymore,” she wrote.

Another self-identified high school teacher likened her job to “being in prison”, while a college lecturer admitted to crying on the plane back home. "I am also inspired to quit now," wrote the lecturer.

However, some have criticise these educators with one saying, “You are already better off than many to be able to take time off during the school semester to fly to Singapore for a concert. Why are you still complaining?”

Educators aren’t the only people who are catching the resignation bug.

A mum who flew to Singapore for the concert said she had initially planned to head straight back work but ended up taking more time off to pick her kid up at the kindergarten.

“My kid always wanted me to fetch her from school, but I couldn’t because of work. To hell with this job, I’m going to do something that makes me happy,” she declared.

Even a netizen allegedly working for Alibaba wrote on Xiaohongshu that Lady Gaga gave him the courage to make a new choice and find another job.
