S’porean’s Offer To Buy Helper A BTS Ticket Went So Viral, Her Family In Myanmar Thought Something Bad Happened

A Singaporean woman has melted hearts online after revealing she plans to pay for her domestic helper’s BTS concert ticket in full after receiving a handwritten letter asking for a salary advance.

And no, we are not talking about a regular concert ticket.

This is because Nant Lah Sann Hie aka Mo is hoping for VIP seats, which cost S$388 each on the ticketing website.

The 33-year-old domestic helper from Myanmar also found a help-to-buy service online that charged an additional S$800 fee to help her get a VIP ticket when sales open in early June.

We are talking about a potential VIP ticket package that could cost more than S$1,200.

BTS is slated to perform at the National Stadium on December 17,19, 20, and 22, 2026.

On May 24, Nant Lah Sann Hie aka Mo hhanded Yvonne a handwritten letter asking if she could receive about two months’ salary in advance.

According to her, Mo repeatedly assured her employer that it was completely okay if the request was inconvenient.

“Please only help Mo if it is comfortable and convenient for you,” she wrote.

Mo has been an ARMY (the name of BTS fans) since 2015, and her social media feeds are apparently filled with BTS content.

Yvonne says Mo has been working with her for the past three-and-a-half years, helping care for her two kids, aged six, and 14.

And of course, her six-year-old child knows BTS songs thanks to Mo.

According to her, Mo follows BTS closely, spends her free time watching the group's content, and knows every member by heart.

Despite being a fan for nearly 10 years, Mo had never attended their concerts before due to finances.

After reading the letter, Yvonne said she realised this wasn't really about a concert ticket.

“It was a dream she never thought she would get to experience,” she says, adding that she decided to cover the ticket entirely as a gift.

“I didn't want her to feel like it was a burden or something she needed to repay. I wanted to create a happy memory for her,” she explains.

In an interview with 8days.sg, Yvonne says that even until today, Mo would rather the cost of the ticket be deducted from her salary.

She also shares with us that Mo did not mention it to her family back in Myanmar.

“But the news went viral there that her parents texted her to ask what happened. They thought something bad had happened,” says Yvonne.

Yvonne also shared with us that Mo herself has not been in the best of health recently and has had to see the doctor regularly.

“Some recent blood test results came back abnormal, and her doctor has advised the tests to be repeated,” said Yvonne, adding that she might need to see a specialist.

Yvonne says she feels this is why seeing BTS in concert seems like an out-of-reach dream for her.

“It was never just about a concert ticket. It was about someone who works hard, puts others first, faces her own challenges quietly, and rarely spends on herself,” she says.

After Yvonne shared the story online, netizens quickly flooded the comments section with warnings about scalpers and fake tickets.

Apparently, one even tried offering her VIP tickets before official sales had started.

However, someone claiming to be from a ticketing agency reached out and offered to help Mo secure legitimate tickets without charging additional fees.

If successful, it would eliminate the need for the S$800 ticket-buying service altogether.

“We are hopeful, but we also understand that tickets are extremely limited, and nothing is guaranteed,” says Yvonne.

Still, she says the support they have received has already made the experience worthwhile.

“The support, encouragement and generosity we have received have already meant so much to both of us,” she shares.

As with the Internet, there were also criticism and differing opinions. All of which Yvonne tells us doesn’t bother her.

“But I think that is part of social media, and everyone is entitled to their views,” she tells us.

“However, the number of people who took the time to help, offer advice, or simply cheer Mo on far outweighed anything else,” she added.

Ironically, if Mo manages to secure a ticket, Yvonne herself will likely miss the concert as she expects to be overseas for work during that period.

“Seeing her excitement and knowing she gets to experience something she has dreamed about for years would already be enough for me. I'll definitely be cheering her on from wherever I am and looking forward to hearing every detail when she comes home,” Yvonne tells us.
