Lina Ng's Son, Now A Medical Student At NUS, Surprised Her At His White Coat Ceremony To Help Fulfil Her Lifelong Dream

Ex-Mediacorp actress Lina Ng's sons are sure making her proud. 

First, there was her eldest son, Jeriel, now 21, who got her brimming with pride on his OCS commissioning day last March. Now, she's has a new doctor-to-be in her family. 

Earlier today, the 51-year-old took to her Instagram to share that her 19-year-old second son, Joel, has been accepted at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Lina and her physical education teacher husband Mike Lam's youngest son, Samuel, is 14.

In her first post, the Lion Mums star first shared photos of her family members with Joel at his white coat ceremony, which marks the beginning of medical school for first-year students. It's also where they receive their first white coat.

"Joys beyond," Lina quipped.

She then shared another reel of Joel surprising her by asking her to put on his coat. "Wear this? Me wear?" she asked, looking slightly stunned.

Her thoughtful son then took his coat off and personally put it on for Lina, even helping her to button it up.

"I've always wanted to be a doctor but it never came to pass," she said in the video.

Lina then gushed that she's never even gotten to play a doctor in any of her past roles before slotting her hands into the pockets, strutting like how she thinks a doctor typically would. 

"For a few precious minutes, he made my dream come true. So sweet of him," she lauded in her caption with a hashtag that read: "he remembered".

8days.sg has reached out to Lina to find out more about Joel's new matriculation but did not get a response at press time. 

But it looks like Joel isn't the only one who helped to fulfil the actress' dream.

"Hi Dr. Lina... Or would you prefer Dr. Ng?," a netizen asked in the comments.

"Dr Ng please," the actress replied.
