The veteran songwriter’s twin brother, Lee Wei Song, shared that Si Song’s surgery was successful and he is now undergoing rehabilitation in Beijing.
Local songwriter and music producer Lee Si Song, 59, is recovering after suffering a sudden brain hemorrhage while in China.
His twin brother and longtime collaborator, Lee Wei Song, shared the news on Weibo, updating fans on Si Song’s current condition.
In a post dated October 23, Wei Song revealed that Si Song experienced a sudden brain bleed in September while in Beijing. Fortunately, the medical emergency was quickly detected, and Si Song was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.
“The surgery was very successful. Si Song is now undergoing rehabilitation with family by his side, and his condition has improved greatly,” Wei Song wrote.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Chinese medical team for their professionalism and efficiency, adding that he looks forward to performing with his brother again during their upcoming Beijing concert in late November.
Speaking to Beijing Daily, Wei Song said: “The medical team here was incredibly efficient and professional. I’m very thankful for the speed in which they provided Si Song with treatment. His recovery is going well, so please don’t worry.”
Local stars Stefanie Sun and JJ Lin have since sent their well wishes to Si Song through Wei Song’s post. Wei Song shared that Stefanie was “very concerned” upon hearing the news, but he reassured her that Si Song was on the mend and cheered her on for her upcoming concert.
The Lee brothers are set to return to the stage in Beijing at the end of November for their Forty For You concert tour, which began in Singapore late last year, with Stefanie Sun as a guest performer.
Speaking about the show, Wei Song said they plan to perform 40 of their most iconic works, adding: “These songs have accompanied fans through many years and life’s ups and downs. We hope everyone can sing along with us when the time comes.”
He also conveyed a heartfelt message from his brother: “Si Song wishes to thank everyone for their love and encouragement. He is deeply touched, and promises to recover soon so we can reunite on stage and share our music once again.”
Here’s wishing Si Song a smooth and speedy recovery.
