HK Actress Teresa Mak Showed Her Kids Her Leaked Nude Pics "To Educate Them"

While some parents want to hide their distasteful past from their children forever, Hong Kong actress Teresa Mak thinks it's necessary to come clean to help the kids learn. 

In a recent interview, the star opened up about an unfortunate episode that happened back in 1993.

The now 50-year-old actress was only 17 when she joined the Miss Hong Kong pageant that year.

She was a hot favourite back then, but her dreams of winning the competition were completely shattered after a series of nude photos were leaked to the media just a few hours before the finals. 

The devastating scandal eventually caused her to be eliminated from the Top 10. She was, however, still offered a contract by TVB, which allowed her to continue her showbiz career. 

Recalling the incident, Teresa revealed that she was tricked into taking the compromising photos by her ex-boyfriend when she was only 15 years old. 

Though it has been 35 years, she shockingly still keeps the photos.

The actress, who married barrister Wang Guohao in 2006, even showed them to her two sons and daughter, who are aged 12 to 17. 

Sounds bizarre, but she believes they can help "to educate them".

"This experience still affects me to this day... It was because I acted recklessly back then," she explained.

"So you kids can live however you want, but some things I’ve already been through, and they can have long term consequences. You need to learn to protect yourselves," added Teresa. 

The actress also revealed that film producers did ask her to star in Category III movies after the scandal, but she firmly refused despite the high remuneration.

"At that time, erotic films were very popular, and they were offering over a million HKD (S$167K), but I was unmoved because this was not how I wanted things to happen!," she stressed.

Even though Teresa was never fully naked in her movies, she was still known as a Category III actress. 

Looking back, the actress sighed that there was nothing she could do about it. "Who asked me to be reckless when I was young?" she said.
