F4 Said To Be Reuniting For 25th Anniversary Concert In 2026, But Vic Chou Doesn’t Seem Optimistic

Yesterday (Jun 4), F4 fans went into a tizzy when news broke that the massively popular noughties Taiwanese boyband is set to reunite in 2026 for a concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut.
Jerry Yan, 48, Vic Chou, 43, Vanness Wu, 46, and Ken Chu, 46, shot to superstardom across Asia as F4 in hit 2001 Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden. The show also starred the late actress Barbie Hsu.
They released albums and played to packed concerts all over.
After disbanding in 2009, the four only reunited once — during the Jiangsu TV Spring Festival in 2013 — and haven’t shared the stage since.
No, a CGI-ed reunion doesn’t count.
According to Taiwan’s Mirror Media, the quartet finally reached an agreement and will make a comeback next year.
In addition to targeting China and Taiwan, they may tour across Asia, including Japan and South Korea.
The reunion was made possible by Taiwan-based recording company B’in Music, which was behind the comeback of Taiwanese boyband Energy in 2024.
Over the years, many parties have tried and failed to bring F4 back together.
But it was B’in Music’s success with Energy — launching new songs and concert plans —that convinced F4 to agree to a 25th anniversary show.
The company spent a long time individually persuading each member, but with the four signed to different management companies, bringing them together was an uphill battle.
There were also rumours that they had split due to differences in their personalities and feelings of jealousy and resentment between them.
While fans were thrilled at the news, Vic didn’t appear too optimistic when asked about the rumoured reunion during the premiere of his new drama The World Between Us: After The Flames.
“I don’t know,” he said.
Apparently, the members frequently get approached for a reunion every year, but plans always fall through.
Vic explained that he could be the reason things have not panned out: “I want there to be more planning — not just a money-making gig.”
Whenever he brought up this point to those proposing a reunion, there was never any follow-up.
After the group disbanded, Vic, who tied the knot with Taiwanese actress Reen Yu in 2015 and with whom he has a nine-year-old daughter, has been focusing on acting.
Jerry, arguably the most popular member of F4, has had much success in China, starring in dramas and occasionally appearing on variety shows.
