Dee Hsu Turns 48, Dedicates Touching Post To Late Sister Barbie: “From Now On, I'll Slowly Become Her Older Sister”

On June 14, Taiwanese host Dee Hsu celebrated her 48th birthday, the same age her late sister Barbie Hsu was when she passed away. Posting a throwback photo of Barbie on Instagram, she paired it with a bittersweet caption.

“My sister will forever remain 48 years old, and today I’ve just turned 48! From now on, I will slowly become her older sister. It's my turn to watch over her, and tell her what’s happening at home. With me here [she] won’t have to worry! Shan, you’ve truly become a star in the sky, casting light on all my darkness,” she penned.

Barbie passed away unexpectedly from pneumonia during a family trip to Japan in February last year.

Dee and Barbie shared a very close relationship, and following Barbie’s passing, Dee stepped away from the spotlight as she coped with grief, describing it as one of the lowest points in her life.

Dee recently returned to her web talk show Dee Girls Talk, where she spoke candidly about falling into depression in the months after Barbie’s death. She also revealed how her close friend, model Janet Chia, introduced her to pickleball, a sport that played an important part in her healing journey.
