Angelababy Tears Up As She Meets Fans At Her First Public Event 2 Years After Being Cancelled By Chinese Netizens

In late 2023, Chinese star Angelababy was cancelled by Chinese netizens for catching Blackpink’s Born Pink World Tour show in Macau, and for allegedly watching Lisa’s performance at Parisian cabaret Crazy Horse. 

Crazy Horse later came out to state that news of Angelababy being at Lisa’s show were fake, but it did little to change public sentiment. 

People remained angry at Angelababy, causing her career to take a nosedive. 

It was only recently that the criticisms towards the 36-year-old eased up. She finally made her first public appearance since the controversy at a brand event on Aug 27. 

Upon arriving at the venue and seeing her fans, the Chinese star was overcome with emotion, tears welling up in her eyes. 

Throughout the night, Angelababy was seen interacting with fans in the area, even making her way around the venue to greet some of them. While seated, she also adjusted her position just so she could have a good view of the crowd that arrived to see her. 

When she heard a fan shout “I love you” she immediately spun around to send them a heart, a grin on her face even as tears filled her eyes. She was also caught on video attempting to wipe her tears several times throughout the event. 

Even as it came time for her to depart, Angelababy was said to appear reluctant to leave as she waved to her supporters. 

Clips of Angelababy at the event immediately went viral, with many commenting on how touched they were by her reunion with her fans.  

It was later reported that the star, after finding out fans had queued to enter the event since the early hours, ordered close to a hundred cups of milk tea as a treat to them. 

She was praised for her thoughtful actions, with many commenting on how heartwarming the entire situation was. 

“Watching her cry, I couldn’t hold back my own tears,” wrote one netizen. 

Guess that’s good enough proof of Angelababy being un-cancelled now?
