Frenchman With Master’s Degree In Engineering Now Serves $29.90 Steak With Unlimited Fries At Braseiro
The 37-year-old tells 8days.sg how his engineering background helped him become a better chef-owner of two casual steak frites restaurants.
If Braseiro's chef-owner Alexandre Pini looks like he belongs in a French rom-com rather than behind a barbecue grill, you're probably not the first person to think so.
The 37-year-old Frenchman makes regular appearances at his casual steak restaurants, occasionally stepping behind the grill and greeting customers with an easy smile.
But beneath the Gallic charm is an unexpected backstory. Before opening Braseiro, Pini wasn't a chef at all — he studied engineering in France and graduated with a Master's degree before moving to Singapore to pursue a dream that had little to do with equations and everything to do with food.
The Lille native from northern France earned his Master's degree in general engineering from French engineering school ICAM.
Today, he runs a pair of restaurants serving steak frites from $29.90.
