Banker Turned Hawker Sells $7 NYC Levain-Style Cookies At Stall Ate Cookies In Golden Mile Food Centre

Amid the sizzling woks selling familiar hawker fare at Golden Mile Food Centre, one stall stands out with the scent of freshly baked cookies.

Opened on June 14, Ate Cookies specialises in hefty New York-style cookies with dense, chewy centres. The man behind the two-month-old stall is former bank relationship manager Donovan Wong, 33.

Although Ate Cookies is new, its owner is no stranger to the hawker trade. This is Donovan’s second F&B business in the same food centre, after Taiwanese hawker stall Wen Li Taiwanese Food, which opened in 2021.
