Japanese OL Shares Biggest Work Culture Shocks After Moving to Singapore: “Everything is on Teams”

We are all so used to working in Singapore that everything seems totally ordinary to us.
But not for foreign talents.
Recently, a Japanese woman named Eimy shared on Instagram the "two biggest [corporate] culture shocks" she noticed after moving to Singapore to work.
The first thing: "Almost everything [at work] is on Teams chat".
"Back in Japan, it was mostly email. So I kept taking screenshots just to remember stuff," she said.
Eimy admitted that it took her some time to get used to it at first. Just wait until she finds out we also use WhatsApp and Telegram for work — and that some people even work from home.
She is also amazed by the working hours in Singapore.
In Japan, Eimy often had to stay in the office until 1 or 2am just to finish her work.
"Here, I actually have time to go for a run on a weekday," she said. "Honestly, having this kind of balance just makes me feel so good."
Netizens warmly welcomed Eimy to our Little Red Dot though some couldn’t resist teasing the work habits of Singaporeans.
"And you will see people going off to the pantry and [taking] coffee breaks more than you could imagine hehe," one wrote.
Now that definitely sounds like someone I know.
