Japanese Man Spends S$41K On Plastic Surgery After Girlfriend Cheats On Him, Looks Unrecognisable After Transformation

Getting cheated on is bad enough. But imagine blaming your looks for your partner's infidelity, only to be rejected from a job because you apparently weren't handsome enough.

Talk about a double blow to your self-esteem.

That's what happened to a Japanese man named Yura, who eventually spent a whopping five million yen (S$41K) on plastic surgery to transform his appearance.

And judging from his before-and-after photos, he's practically unrecognisable.

Yura recently appeared on Japanese variety show Nanani Underground ABEMA, where he revealed how his girlfriend's infidelity set him on a journey to completely change his looks.

Growing up, Yura had spent more than a decade playing baseball, from primary school all the way through university.

Back then, he sported a buzz cut and glasses, and admitted he wasn't particularly confident about his appearance.

Then came the incident that changed everything.

While he was in university, Yura discovered that his girlfriend had cheated on him.

But instead of simply blaming her for being unfaithful, he began wondering whether his appearance had something to do with it.

"If I were handsome enough, maybe she wouldn't have cheated on me," he recalled thinking.

Ouch. That's a pretty heartbreaking way to look at being cheated on.

Determined to reinvent himself, Yura decided to undergo plastic surgery.

He also tried getting a job at a male host club, where men are paid to entertain and socialise with customers.

Unfortunately, that didn't go quite as planned either.

The establishment reportedly turned him down with a rather brutal explanation.

"We only hire handsome guys here," he was allegedly told.

Talk about adding insult to injury.

But instead of letting the rejection discourage him, Yura became even more determined to transform his appearance.

Over time, he reportedly underwent several cosmetic procedures, including double-eyelid surgery, under-eye bag removal, liposuction on his face and neck, and fillers to soften his smile lines.

The total bill?

A cool five million yen (S$41K).

And the results were so dramatic that even the hosts of Nanani Underground ABEMA were stunned when Yura revealed his new look.

"He looks like a completely different person!" one exclaimed.

Another host couldn't help commenting on how handsome he'd become.

Netizens were equally impressed by the transformation, with some dubbing Yura a "transformation hunk".

Others even compared his new appearance to Japanese singer and actor Kazuya Kamenashi.

Quite the glow-up, huh?

These days, Yura reportedly works in social media and runs businesses involving beauty salons and restaurants.

As for whether his S$41K transformation has helped him find love again?

Well, that remains a mystery.

But hopefully, Yura now knows that someone else's decision to cheat says nothing about how handsome he is.
