What do Fann Wong and Christopher Lee do when they pak tor?
The couple sure knows how to keep that romantic fire burning in their relationship.
Every day can be Valentine’s Day? For Fann and Chris, that’s a giant, pink balloon shaped ‘Yes’. In this shoot we did with the power couple back in 2012, just months before they celebrated their third wedding anniversary, they spill on how they keep the fire burning. Romantic candlelit dinners, going for spins and lazing around in bed? Celebs, they are just like us.
They walk down the aisle... the supermarket aisle
FANN: We like to play masak masak (‘pretend to cook’ in Malay) in supermarkets. But actually we don’t really cook lah. We just buy a lot of snacks to eat in front of the TV and when we’re lying in bed.
They hit the road
CHRIS: I love driving her around. We can just drive in the car and talk for hours. I once took her on a four-hour spin around Singapore – that’s like driving to Malacca and back. She’s been doing all the driving but I just got my driving licence back [he had his license revoked for three years after a drink-driving accident in 2007] and I can finally take her out for spins again!
They stay in bed... but of course
FANN: We spend a lot of time lying in bed. Not the R(A) kind lah! I once asked him if he minds living with my parents and he said he’s okay with it because once we close the door, it’s our private world already.”
They make googly eyes at each other... over dinner
FANN: We enjoy having dinner at restaurants but for one V-Day we stayed home and cooked our own candlelight dinner.
They get really, um, rustic
CHRIS: We went to a farm at Lim Chu Kang once to look at cows and goats. (Fann interjects: “Are you sure you’re talking about me?”) Yes lah! How can you forget we did that?
And when they run out of ideas... they catch a movie
FANN: We hardly go out to watch movies but when we do, it’ll be at Orchard Cineleisure, Lido or Great World City. Sometimes we go to Balestier ’cos it’s easy to buy tickets there.
