Luxury Handbag Resale Shop At Chinatown Point Catches Fire

A fire broke out at Chinatown Point this morning (Mar 12). Flames were seen behind the glass window of Luxury City, a handbag consignment shop known for selling second-hand bags from brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Prada.

According to CNA, a loud sound was heard at about 10.30am, and two long cracks appeared on the storefront glass panel of the handbag shop. White smoke also reportedly filled the mall’s first floor, and there was an “acrid smell” hanging in the air.

Shoppers were evacuated from the mall by security personnel. One of them was a woman midway through her salon appointment, who still had wet hair and a towel around her shoulders.
