Some looks are for the adventurous, others require some practice, so it pays to prepare early.

Last year, it was Taylor Swift. This year, it’s Lady Gaga. The Mother Monster is slated to perform in Singapore on May 18, 19, 21, and 24 at the National Stadium, her only stop in Asia this year. The pop icon last played here in 2012 as part of her Born This Way Ball tour.

Undoubtedly, Little Monsters from across the region will flock to our island to enjoy her music and celebrate what she stands for: authenticity, inclusivity, and being your boldest self. In the same grain, we are drawing inspiration from 10 of Lady Gaga’s music videos and performances as we break down how you can recreate her artistry and pay homage to Mother Monster when you are at her concert.

Just Dance

Lady Gaga proved she was going to be different from her contemporaries from the get-go with this single from her debut album The Fame (2008). Her signature look of the music video features poker straight platinum blond hair and a very nude yet slightly pink, concealer lip trend that was all the rage in the 2000s. The look is easy enough to re-create — score yourself a sleek white hair wig and dab on the iconic Myth lipstick shade from Mac Cosmetics. Extra bonus points for heavy eyeliner.

Poker Face

The hit that catapulted Lady Gaga to global fame had just as iconic looks. To rehash her look here, reuse the white wig from your ‘Just Dance’ look but don’t forget to emblazon with a striking lightning bolt on your face. We recommend using a stencil to get a crisp shape or you could use an eyeliner to sketch the form. For a simpler recreation, cover your face with an over-the-top pair of black shield sunglasses.

Bad Romance

It would not be a stretch to say that Bad Romance was the song that Lady Gaga soared to stratospheric heights with. To level up your concert look , go for the wide-eyed doll look. Get yourself a pair of ring contact lenses to make your pupils appear bigger. Then use a combination of white eyeliner and big, dramatic false eyelashes to make the eyes appear even wider. Fun fact: The white eyeliner can also be used to create the graphic eyeliner sported on Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande in Rain On Me.

Alejandro

One of the most striking scenes from the music video from The Fame Monster EP was of her dressed like a nun in a white habit with a red cross. If you want to go the whole nine yards for your concert look, get a similar costume, make a cross out of red duct tape, and swipe on deep red lipstick to complete the haunting image.

Judas

While Born This Way is undoubtedly the more famous song from her namesake album, Judas features looks that are easier to recreate without an art, fashion, and beauty team. In particular, the one where she sports a bandana, in either blue or red, on her head matched with bold eyeliner details below her eyes. The bandana is easy to source, but perfecting the eyeliner look requires patience, dexterity and the thinnest black eyeliner you can find. Use the same eyeliner to recreate the details from The Edge of Glory.

Applause

This one's for the adventurous. Applause was the lead single from the 2013 album Artpop, an album where Lady Gaga infused influences from notable art and art forms. So it’s no surprise her looks are just as artistic. The feature of Applause is Lady Gaga dressed in all black, including a hair cover, with her face painted in white with various shades smeared all over. Grab your black outfit and black cloth for the head, then artfully colour your face with face paint.

Million Reasons

Following Cheek to Cheek, Million Reasons and the Joanne album marked a visual and artistic turn for Lady Gaga as she explored a more normcore image. As a country song, Lady Gaga stuck with the genre’s aesthetics by sporting a cowboy hat while glamming it up by choosing a powder pink iteration and matching it with a pink suit.

Super Bowl Performance

Lady Gaga was the sole performer at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, a feat that had not happened since 2010. After a daring stunt jumping down from the roof of the stadium, Lady Gaga performed a medley of her hits including Just Dance, Born This Way, Telephone, Million Reasons, and Bad Romance. To approximately recreate her performance look, get yourself a sequinned blazer and create a statement eye look with face jewellery.

Stupid Love

The lead single from the 2020 Chromatica album talks about Lady Gaga wanting, well, your stupid love. Decked out in hot pink from head to toe, the vibe of Stupid Love’s styling is rather easy to recreate. Get your long pink wig on and create a dramatic smokey eye with only pink and purple eyeshadows. Props if you can score a similar armour-like outfit.

Abracadabra

Lady Gaga’s latest release, the 2025 Mayhem album, harks back to her avant-garde, darker pop roots. Spotlighting the second single Abracadabra, the look that that can easily be recreated is the makeup look where she is dressed in spiked red latex. But unless you want to squeeze into a latex outfit for a concert in hot and humid Singapore, we recommend just sticking to the nude pink metallic eyeshadow with oxblood lips that Lady Gaga wore.
