Wolfgang Puck Documentary To Debut On Disney+ On June 25

Disney+ will drop Wolfgang, a new documentary feature about celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck on June 25.

The documentary — produced by Supper Club, the guys behind Jiro Dreams of Sushi and Netflix’s Chef’s Table and Street Food —will make its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival on June 12, before heading to the streaming service two weeks later.

Wolfgang will chronicle Puck’s Austrian upbringing, during which he used his love of cooking to escape a troubled childhood, as well as his arrival in America at age 24 and the risk involved in opening Spago, his first restaurant.

“Wolfgang stepped into the spotlight in a way no chef ever had before,” said director David Gelb “In doing so, he showed that a chef could be a storyteller, a teacher and a friend. This is the tradition of Wolfgang Puck, and it has been a profound honor to tell his story.”

“I am not one to dwell on the past, but the way David Gelb told this story made me realise how far I have come from my humble beginnings,” said Puck in a statement. “In a single phrase, we call it the American dream.”

Wolfgang isn’t the only documentary about the 71-year-old master chef who runs over 100 restaurants around the world, including two in Singapore,
Spago Dining Room, and Cut. In January, HBO Max launched The Event, a four-part docu-series about his Hollywood catering company.
