I don’t know about you guys but when I’m getting a foot massage, I tend to keep my mouth shut, preferring to endure the pain and pleasure in silence as the masseur worked on my pressure points. But for the producers of Toggle’s Pressing Issues, that’s also probably the best time to conduct an interview.

On Pressing Issues, two personalities grilled each other with deeply personal and revealing questions (supplied by the show writers), while getting their feet massaged. If one participant declines to answer (or ask) the question, the therapist will increase pressure on that person’s foot. (the masseurs were from J Cube’s Kang Foot Wellness spa — so they’re legit, okay!)

Wait, doesn’t this format sound a lot like the ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’ game on The Late Late Show with James Corden? Except the latter involves the players sinking their teeth on some really disgusting, vomit-inducing delicacies.

As quirky as Pressing Issues sounds, watching someone squirm as the therapist intensifies pressure on the sole of their feet just isn’t as visceral as Gordon Ramsay devouring a bull’s penis, Arnold Schwarzenegger munching on turkey testicles, or Cher biting off a cow’s tongue.

Still, there are hilarious, shocking even, revelations to be learnt from each episode, which is about five to six minutes long. (The interviews were edited down from an hour’s worth of footage; so will the audience see the rest?) Here are some of our favourite moments from the 14-ep show... (Warning: Contains salty language.)
