The God of Mischief is up to no good again.
Disney+ has dropped the trailer for its next Marvel Studio event series, Loki, with Tom Hiddleston reprising the horned helmet-wearing titular character.
As we all know, Loki dies in Avengers: Infinity War but thanks to some time-travel shenanigans is ‘resurrected’ in Avengers: Endgame where he subsequently escapes with the Tesseract aka the Space Stone into another timeline.
Apparently, that little stunt of Loki’s disrupted the proper flow of time and this is where the Time Variance Authority comes in. With a little help from Loki, they hope to repair the damage.
Owen Wilson plays a TVA agent (named Morbius M Mobius, according to IMDB) and Loki’s handler. Can Loki be trusted to finish the job? Our Magic 8-ball says ‘Don’t count on it’. Then again, Loki isn't Loki if he doesn’t run a few red lights.
Loki is the first third Disney+ title released by Marvel Studios. The first, WandaVision, came out in January, followed by last month’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which will end its six-ep run on Apr 23.
Kate Herron, who was behind a few episodes of Netflix’s Sex Education, directed all six episodes of Loki, which also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino (Into the Badlands), Wunmi Mosaku (Lovecraft Country) and Richard E Grant.
