In an illustrious career spanning five decades, Ridley Scott has produced a few TV series (The Good Wife, The Terror, The Man in High Castle) and helmed a TV commercial or two, but he has never directed a TV series.
Now, at the ripe old age of 83, the legendary filmmaker, who’s behind A Good Year, Black Rain and White Squall, is making his TV directorial debut with Raised by Wolves.
Premiering on HBO Go on Sept 3, the sci-fi series centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.
And judging from the trippy trailer, the show looks like a cross between Alien and The Martian and has nothing to do with the Canadian fashion label. Scott directed the first two episodes of the 10-part series. The cast includes Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, and Travis Fimmel. Photo: HBO
