In the Season 4 finale of Lucifer, we bid farewell to Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) as he makes his way back to Hell. But he didn't stay too long because he's back in LA in Season 5.
But as the just-dropped trailer reveals, Lucifer isn’t who he says he is — he’s actually his twin brother Michael. Yikes. What’s going on?
We’ll find out what really happened to the real Lucifer when the supernatural procedural, based on a DC Comic title, premieres Aug 21 on Netflix.
The 16-ep season will be split into two batches. No word yet on when the second half will be released. Production on Season 5 was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Season 5 was supposed to be Lucifer’s swansong, but in June, Netflix committed to a sixth and final season. "The Devil made us do it," the producers tweeted. "#lucifer will return for a sixth and final season. like, FINAL final."
