Tiger King Saga: Carole Baskin Is Glad Joe Exotic Didn’t Receive A Donald Trump Pardon

Carole Baskin is glad Joe Exotic didn't get a pardon from Donald Trump.

The Tiger King star — who is currently serving a 22-year sentence behind bars after being convicted of plotting a murder-for-hire against rival Carole — was hoping that the outgoing President of the United States would grant him a pardon in his last day of power but Carole is thrilled it didn't happen as she is still scared of Joe Exotic.

Speaking to TMZ, she said: "If I understand the notice I got from the prison system, he's already gotten another month added to his sentence by not obeying prison rules. If Joe really had a change of heart, he could do what Mario Tabraue did to lessen his 100-year drug trafficking conviction to 12 years by turning state's evidence against the other animal exploiters."

In another interview with Buzzfeed News, Carole said, "I think only Joe's team and the media were ever even thinking about a pardon for Joe, whose real name is Joe Schreibvogel Maldonado Passage

"There is no benefit, other than a feeble attempt to deflect attention, for anyone to pardon someone who walked up to five tigers and shot them in the head in order to clear cage space for the circus, who was going to pay him to board their tigers during the offseason.

"Tigers are the world's favourite animal and Joe Schreibvogel Maldonado Passage is right where he belongs: in a cage."

Elsewhere, Joe Exotic's team is "disappointed" that he was not given a pardon.

They added: "140 million Joe Exotic fans had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. We are disappointed that the President did not sign Joe’s pardon, as we were confident he would."

It comes after Joe Exotic's team was so convinced that he would get a pardon that they had a limousine waiting outside prison to take him home, but alas it was not meant to be.

Eric Love, who has led Joe's campaign, said at the time: "This time tomorrow, we’re going to be celebrating. We have good reason to believe it will come through. ‘We’re confident enough we already have a limousine parked about half a mile from the prison. We are really in action mode right now. I've got make-up, wardrobe, the whole unit that will come up. The first thing Joe wants to do, he wants his hair done. He hasn’t had his hair done in two-and-a-half years. That’s the first order of business. Then we’ll probably go and get some pizzas, steak, maybe a McRib."

Eric later tweeted a response supposedly written by Joe himself.

"I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a Pardon from Trump I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post," Joe tweeted. "Boy were we all stupid to believe he actually stood for Equal Justice? His corrupt friends all come first.”

In the final hours of Trump’s presidency, he went on a pardoning spree. In total, Trump issued 73 pardons and commuted the sentences of 70 additional individuals, including his former chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Among the showbiz figures pardoned are rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black, ROC Nation CEO Desiree Perez, and Death Row Records co-founder Michael ‘Harry O’ Harris.— BANG
