Rob Lowe has joked his neighbourhood is “never going to be the same” after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved in.

The 911: Lone Star actor became neighbours with Duke and Duchess of Sussexwhen when they moved into a house “over the fence” from him in Montecito, California.

And Rob has now said the royals have “brought a lot of attention” to his “sleepy little town”.

Speaking to E! News’ Daily Pop, he said: “They definitely have brought a lot of attention to my sleepy little town … Let me tell you something, once the royals move into your neighbourhood, the neighbourhood is never going to be the same.

“When Oprah moved in, that began the sort of resurgence of Montecito. Now that the royals are here: The good news is property values go up, the bad news is the line is longer at Starbucks.”

Rob, 57, also noted that while he lives a stone’s throw away from Harry and Meghan, the couple keep a “low profile”.

He added: “I saw Harry once driving.”

Rob also addressed speculation that Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey — which aired in March — was filmed in his garden.

He said: “It’s so funny. Everybody thinks the interview is shot at my house and then my friend Ted Sarandos who runs Netflix, everybody thought they shot it at his house. Here’s my thing and I have no idea: I think they just plain old shot it at Oprah’s. I swear to you, and they just said it was a mystery location.”

It was earlier reported that the interview was taped at journalist and Oprah pal Gayle King's mansion, but this was later refuted by Gayle.

She said, "They taped at a friend’s home. People said it was at Oprah’s house or Harry and Meghan’s, [but] it was at a friend’s home.” — BANG SHOWBIZ
