Ricky Gervais Is The New Boss (The Springsteen Kind, sorta) on David Brent: Life On The Road

What happens when The Office meets This Is Spinal Tap…

In the mockumentary David Brent: Life on the Road, Ricky Gervais reprises his most famous creation, the obnoxious but strangely endearing David Brent, the boss from the original Office.

This time, Brent is still dreams of being a rocker; clearly, he didn’t learn anything from his failed cover of ‘If You Don’t Know Me by Now’, seen on 2003’s The Office Christmas Special.

So he takes a break from his job as a bathroom supply salesman and goes on a disastrous tour with his band Foregone Conclusion (what a name). It’s fun to see Brent rub people the wrong way with his offensive jokes and un-PC comments, and sad to see him trying to blend in with people (his bandmates mainly) who can’t stand him.

The songs (available iTunes) are a hoot too. Our pick? ‘Please Don’t Make Fun of the Disableds’. Tsk, tsk, tsk, David. (Photo: Netflix)
