This docu, about Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, through the years, was originally scheduled to premiere later this year but was brought forward after the stars’ passings in December.
In this docu, shot in 2014 and 2015, we learnt that they were BFFs who lived literally next door to each other (their homes were decked with movie memorabilia), about Reynolds’ reluctance to retire (at 82, she was still doing Las Vegas shows), and about Fisher’s teen years (Reynolds was disappointed that her daughter didn’t parlay her amazing voice into a singing career).
One poignant moment that stands out isn't between Fisher and her mum, but with her father, singer Eddie Fisher, just months before his death in 2010. In the clip, Fisher explains how she tried to win her neglectful father’s affection when she was young by being funny. Good luck holding back the tears. (Photo: HBO)
