Part docu, part sci-fi drama, this show — produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer — looks at mankind’s first imagined trip to the Red Planet in 2033.
You would think that the ‘action’ component will be exciting but guess what? Those scenes are a bore; they play like a weak riff on The Martian and Interstellar.
More fascinating and inspiring is the docu-part where space exploration experts (such as SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and The Martian author Andy Weir) explain the importance of interplanetary migration in ensuring humanity’s long-term survival. (Photo: National Geographic Channel)
