Heidi Klum started growing her own vegetables in lockdown.
The 47-year-old model made her spare time during the COVID-19 pandemic "fulfilling" by growing her own vegetables as cooking helps her to "wind down".
She told Women's Health UK: “I’ve started a little vegetable patch in my garden. Seeing the squashes growing has been really fulfilling, and I have fun with the kids making squash muffins. It’s good for them to see healthy meals made from scratch. Cooking generally helps me wind down.”
Heidi has been able to get into more domestic tasks as travel has been restricted during the pandemic.
She added: “I’ve relished the opportunity to spend more time at home with my family in recent months. Being on a plane and in the studio a lot less means I’ve been able to enjoy getting stuck into domestic tasks. I’ve also been doing painting in the garden with my kids — I was determined not to lose them down the abyss of the internet. It’s a goal I’m shooting for with myself, too.”
What's more, the Project Runway star — who has Helene, 16, Henry, 15, Johan, 14, and Lou, 11 — has been busy occupying herself with fitness and exercise as she set herself a goal to do 20 laps a day in her pool.
She explained: “I’m fortunate enough to have a pool at home and, when the pandemic started, I began swimming 20 laps a day. Low-impact exercise like this is much better for my joints than running on a treadmill. Hula-hooping is a great low-impact option, too — as is all the trampolining I do!
“I go running, jump on the trampoline in the garden at my home in LA and do body-weight exercises — including lots of squats. I get plenty of movement from running around after four children, two dogs and a cat.”— BANG
