The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda are finally coming to Singapore!

Disney+, the highly anticipated streaming service, will launch in Singapore on Feb 23, the company announced on Friday (Dec 11).

Home entertainment: Disney+ subscribers can access over 500 films and 15,000 episodes of content from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic, and Star.

For a fee of S$11.98 a month or S$119.98 a year, subscribers can access over 500 films and 15,000 episodes of content from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic, and Star.

The vast library includes the Marvel Studios movies, the animated classics from Pixar and Disney, the Star Wars saga, National Geographic documentaries, as well as Disney+ originals. The latter includes exclusives such as The Mandalorian, the award-winning musical Hamilton and Pixar’s Forky Asks a Question.

Elsewhere, Star, the long-running Asian entertainment platform, will offer a wide array of general entertainment, including show catering to older teens and adults.

In the other words, subscribers can catch some movies and TV shows from other Disney-owned 20th Century and FX, such as Deadpool, How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy, and 9-1-1. (Don’t worry, you can set a password to prevent young ones from watching those grown-up content.)

Disney+ Singapore is the first market globally to offer six content brands. The service offers users up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads of content on up to 10 devices, personalized recommendations, and the ability to set up to seven different user profiles per account.

Disney+ debuted in November 2019, first in the US before making its way to Australia, New Zealand, Europe and parts of Asia (the product was launched Indonesia in September). As of December, it has 86.8 million subscribers worldwide.  

At its Investor Day on Thursday (Dec 10), the company declared plans to spend US$8 billion (S$10.7 bil) to US$9 billion on Disney+ content by 2024. It also shared plans for 10 Marvel series, 10 Star Wars series, and 15 Disney and Pixar series and features for the streamer over the next few years
