Your Instagram feed is about to get spammed with photos of Singapore’s latest pastel-hued attraction. The Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC), New York’s immersive Instagrammable ice cream-themed museum that apparently has a waitlist of 200,000, is making its way to our shores. Yes, the mother of experiential installations and photo opps will open its doors at Dempsey in August, making this MOIC’s first international outpost.

Now you don’t have to rue the fact that travel restrictions have been preventing you from visiting the Insta-worthy wonderland in New York, which was first launched in 2016 in the Big Apple as a pop-up experience. Since then, its giant sprinkle pool rooms, unabashedly joyous pink hues and wondrous celebration of all things ice cream have become so popular, tickets sell out like hotcakes (it boasts a waitlist of 200,000) and it’s now among the top 10 Instagrammed museums in the world.

What to expect at the Museum of Ice Cream in Singapore when it opens in August 2021:

The Museum of Ice Cream in Singapore will transform a sprawling 60,000 sq ft property in Dempsey to a fantastical photo-worthy haven featuring 14 all-new installations that amplify the enjoyment of ice cream.

MOIC’s sprinkle pools in its New York and San Francisco locations are among the hot favourites, and in Singapore, we’ll get to luxuriate in the world’s largest MOIC sprinkle pool ever created. Cool.

There's also a pink and yellow jungle adorned with 10,000 bananas that we expect IG fiends will go, er, bananas over. Meanwhile, families will delight in the fully functional, Singapore-inspired Dragon Playground.

Will Singapore’s Banana Split room look something like its New York counterpart? Only time will tell.

MOIC Singapore only opens in August, but first access tickets are already on sale — and they’re already selling out on certain dates. Ticket prices range from $38 (if you buy in a group of four) to $42 for a single ticket. Besides the experience, which lasts about 60 to 90 minutes, visitors will also get five ice cream treats with each ticket. Because it’s only right that real ice cream is involved.
