What To Expect At Great Bay Fiesta, Which Has A Winter Playground With Real Snow, Circus Acts & More

There’s a whole lot to do at the Great Bay Fiesta, from circus acts and carnival games to a winter wonderland with real snow and food stalls.The mega Christmas extravaganza, on from now until Jan 1, 2023, is split into four segments.

Marvel at thrilling circus acts at the Great Cirque des Cascades, an 80-minute circus show inside the Big Top that requires a separate ticket (from $72). Over at Uncle Ringo’s Great World Carnival, there are kid-friendly carnival rides, fun fair games and bouncy castles — admission tickets from $10 (includes $5 game credits).

Meanwhile, the Great Food Fiesta is a foodie haven with local and international cuisines, including 10 Thai brands serving up grilled meat and even a TikTok-famous cartoon pancake.

But the biggest draw will probably be Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice (tickets from $25 to $45), where the same snow-making machines used in the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 are used here to pump out fresh, fluffy real snow in this 2,400 sqm winter pop-up playground. Besides making snow angels and building snowmen, visitors can also get their adrenaline pumping sliding down a 70m snow slope or ice slide, and try their hand at ice bowling, curling and ice cycling.

Temperatures dip as low as -15°C so it’s best to turn up in long pants. While winter jackets and snow boots are provided at Ice Magic, skip the queues and bring your own instead. Better yet, have gloves and beanies ready as well to keep yourself warm and toasty.
