This Weekend Isn't Complete Until You Check Out These Events (Oct 5 to 7)

If chilling by the beach in your bikini with booze and bands is your ideal sort of weekend, look no further than Beerkini Rocks. Hosted by Bikini Bar in Sentosa, this quarterly beach party will also showcase music acts SF-Xpress and Kitsch Yogi Bandits. Daytime drinking is a-okay here – booze promotions include a supersized glass of Heineken beer at $10 from 1pm – 4pm, and buckets of Bintang Beer at $40. There will also be beach games with prizes to be won.

Fancy sipping craft beers and whisky even before you take off for your vacation? DFS is hosting their inaugural Craft Festival at Changi Airport where you get to taste and learn more about over 73 types of craft gin, whisky and beers. Each weekend will feature different spirits from Whitley Neill gin to Copper Dog whisky which you can taste and purchase, and there'll be carnival games and lucky draws with minimum spending of $100. This weekend, founder and head distiller of Tanglin Gin, Tim Whitefield, will introduce and take travellers through a tasting of the first gin distilled right here in Singapore, the Tanglin Orchid Gin.

Up for a highly interactive experience surrounding the Singapore Girl? The Substation, as part of their 2018 programme “Cities Change. People die. Everything you know goes away", is hosting this month-long series of programmes, exhibitions and interactive performance art that will test if you have what it takes to be an SQ girl. Take a trip down memory lane with this National Library Board exhibition about print advertisements in Singapore from the 1830s to 1960s. This is a must-go if you like getting nostalgic looking at old videos of Singapore. This blast from the past will also include interactive multimedia stations and rare publications showcased for the first time.
