This Void Deck In Pasir Ris Just Got A Makeover. But It’s Not The Only IG-Worthy Spot That’s Popped Up In Pasir Ris This Month

One block of flats in Pasir Ris recently got a void deck makeover, and is now swathed in floral wallpaper and adorned with flowers. It’s not the only place in the neighbourhood that’s gotten an Insta-worthy makeover — several void decks and a coffeeshop here have been given the Instagrammable touch.

This is part of the latest installment of Arts in Your Neighbourhood (AYN), which spotlights the neighbourhood of Pasir Ris for the month of March.

Among the 10 AYN programmes scattered around the neighbourhood is a visual arts walking trail comprising four everyday locations in Pasir Ris that have been transformed by a collective of local artists — Jamie Teo, Divaagar, Ernest Goh, Henry Lee and Perception3. The installations, known as The Story of a Place is in its Name, will be up until March 28.

Where to find The Story of a Place is in its Name installations:

There’s the ethereal, romantic transformation at Blk 141 Pasir Ris St 11.

Insta-worthy and thought-provoking stuff at Blk 144/145 Pasir Ris St 11.

This sheltered walkway at Blk 130 Pasir Ris St 11 is great for OOTDs, we reckon.

Even the Coffee Express Kopitiam at Blk 443 Pasir Ris Drive 6 has been jazzed up.

What were the artists' inspired by and what do they have to do with Pasir Ris? Guess you'll have to make a trip to Pasir Ris to find out — there are QR codes at each location that you can scan and get more information about the inspiration behind each of these works.

The AYN programme extends to other parts of Pasir Ris as well — there are a total of 10 arts programmes scattered around the ’hood, ranging from installations to performances at places like Downtown East, White Sands Shopping Centre, Pasir Ris Park.

Arts in Your Neighbourhood is on until Mar 28. Various locations in Pasir Ris. More info at https://artsforall.gov.sg/initiatives/arts-in-your-neighbourhood/arts-in-your-neighbourhood.aspx
