Partying with your mum may sound ludicrous, but that’s not out of a question with what’s lined up this Mother's Day weekend.
#1: Go to a festival that’s good for you.
Festivals don’t always have to be hedonistic. Stop and smell the roses at the holistic Green Is The New Black festival. The two-day wellness-palooza features workshops, a yoga sesh with Liv Lo and a flea market with over 80 stalls hawking eco-conscious grub and wares, a swap event, and ticketed talks by green warriors, eco experts and mindfulness experts who’ll impart their knowledge on how to eat, live and even dress and do good for the world.
What: Green is the New Black Festival | When: May 12 (5pm to 10pm) and May 13 | Where: Equarius Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa. For more info, go to www.greenisthenewblack.asia.
#2: Spend a night at the museum…in Gotham City.
Art After Dark makes its debut at the new Parkview Museum Singapore at Parkview Square (yes, that Gotham City building). Sip on cocktails by Proof & Co, and revel in performances by homegrown indie sensation Charlie Lim, electronic musician Jasmine Sokko and DJ Haili Bin, against the backdrop of the cool contemporary exhibition, ‘On Sharks & Humanity’. Expect throngs of cool cats.
What: Art After Dark | When: May 13, 8pm till late. | Where: Parkview Museum, Parkview Square, Courtyard & Level 3, 600 North Bridge Rd. Free entry. For more info, go to https://www.facebook.com/parkviewmuseumsg.
#3: Wind down from winding down.
Make like you’re hanging out at a pal’s backyard for a lazy, boozy time at Sunday at the Shed (main pic). There’ll be music by a host of DJs, including DJ Woody from the UK (who counts the Beastie Boys among his fans), a host of family- and pet-friendly activities…. And food and beer, of course. Picnic mats not included.
What: Sunday at the Shed | When: May 13, 3pm to 11pm. | Where: City Beach Resort, Labrador Park, 8 Port Rd. Free entry. For more info, go to https://www.facebook.com/sideshowsg/.
