Star Wars fans will soon be able to explore the galaxy far, far away in a museum not so far away. Star Wars Identities, an immersive exhibition that’ll take you on an intergalactic (and personal) journey will be on at the ArtScience Museum from Jan 30 to Jun 13.
The exhibition will feature almost 200 original items — props, costumes, artwork and models — from the original Star Wars films.
Tickets sales begin Jan 15 online and at all Marina Bay Sands box offices. Prices start at $25 for Singapore residents and $32 for a standard adult ticket. Family packages (two adults, two children tickets) are available at $90, or $80 for Singapore residents.
The icing on the cake? You can redeem your SingapoRediscovers Vouchers for any of the ArtScience Museum exhibitions, including this one. We probably don’t need to remind you that there are still capacity limits for safe distancing purposes, so you should probably pre-purchase tickets beforehand.
Singapore is the final stop in the exhibition’s global tour, which has travelled to cities such as Tokyo, Sydney and London.
Visitors will get to discover how the Star Wars movies come to life on the big screen, from early concept drawings, storyboarding, model making, to puppetry and costume design. Geek out over the authentic items from the extensive Lucas Museum of Narrative Art archive in Los Angeles.
The Star Wars Identities collection spans the original Star Wars canon, from the classic (1977 to 1983) and prequel (1999 to 2005) trilogies, the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The exhibition will also take you on a personalised, interactive quest to not only discover more about Star Wars characters, but also your own identity and the human identity. What shapes your identity? Which Star Wars character are you? Do you belong to the light or dark side? You could be getting the answers to life’s most important questions here at the exhibition as well.
Star Wars Identities is on from Jan 30 to Jun 13 at ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands. Tix from $25. More info at www.starwarsidentities.com and https://www.marinabaysands.com/museum.html.
