What would Singapore be without its street food? Tiger has been the perfect accompaniment to hawker food for decades, and Singaporeans love hawker food! To support hawkers who are new to the trade, Tiger set up the Tiger Street Food Support Fund in 2016 to champion the hawker trade.
Held at Tan Quee Lan Street, the Tiger Street Food Festival on Sep 22 brings you back to the good old days of savouring your favourite dishes under the stars (and ping-pong lights). Back by popular demand are the hawkers from the Tiger Street Food Support Fund who will serve up their signature dishes. Tiger is committing an amount equivalent to the proceeds towards the Tiger Street Food Support Fund.
Customers will pay for food and drinks using Tiger Street Food Vouchers which can bought at the entrance or some stalls for $10 per set (in denominations of $1 and $2).
Hawkers will be selling their signature dishes that can match with Tiger beer, so you can buy your nasi lemak, yong tau foo or laksa and enjoy it with your Tiger beer. Customers can buy Tiger Beer, Tiger Radler, Tiger Radler Slushie, Tiger Silver, Tiger Black and Tiger White from dedicated beer booths. Be sure to scan the QR code (in front of the stalls) to learn about the story behind the hawker food and beer pairing.
What’s a party like this without live music? Local bands such as HubbaBubbas and The Astronauts will perform English and Chinese hits. Between sets, Tiger Street Food campaign videos will be screened.
It’s a food festival with a great cause: watch live how much is being raised on the Tiger Street Food Support Fund Meter on stage — so enjoy more beer, more food and keep the numbers climbing!
If you love your hawker food, don’t miss the Tiger Street Food Festival this Friday!
