Singaporeans have been otter-ly obsessed with otters since the clans of critters have been roaming around the island, from Bishan Park to Gardens by the Bay (GBTB). And soon, you can hang out with them in, er, their home.

Arriving soon at Gardens by the Bay’s Bayfront Plaza is Otah & Friends, an otter-themed pop-up happening from Dec 15 to Feb 26, 2021.

The immersive 45-minute experience takes you through a whimsical imagination of the home of Otah the Otter and his family — all 2,500 sq ft of it. Yes, it’s going to be incredibly IG-worthy — after all, it is the brainchild of the creators of the highly Instagrammable Bubble Tea Factory pop-up last year at *Scape.

Once inside this fantasy world where Otah the otter lives with his family, visitors are greeted by cheerful candy-hued furniture and the scent of baking cookies wafting through the air. Their mission is to look for Otah before the cookies in the oven burn.

According to organisers, the experience will see guests rummaging through cabinets for clues, lounging around the, er, property. Needless to say, visitors will also get the chance to snap otter-ly adorable pics along the way.

The visit ends with refreshments for guests, including lemonade and gooey cookies from Insta-famous local bakery Whiskdom (yes, the one with an insane waitlist). And if you find yourself emotionally attached to Otah and co after this visit, there’s a merch store where you can buy collectibles as well.

Unlike the Bubble Tea Factory pop-up in pre-Covid-19 times, there will be safe management measures in place at Otah & Friends. Tickets are priced at $15 per pax (or $12 per person if you book in a group of five). Each time slot will only admit a group of up to five visitors, so you can abide by safe distancing rules and don’t have to jostle with photobombers. The venue will also be sanitised and disinfected in between each group of visitors.

Otah & Friends runs from Dec 15 to Feb 26, 2021, 9am-9pm daily, at Gardens by the Bay, Bayfront Plaza, 18 Marina Gardens Drive (next to Floral Fantasy and Bayfront MRT Station exit B). Tix and more info at
