What happens when dinosaurs invade Universal Studios Singapore? We found out at the media preview of Jurassic World: Explore and Roar!, a dinosauriffic adventure happening at USS from June 2 to Aug 22, which will see velociraptors, T-rexes and a host of other pre-historic creatures come to life right here on our sunny shores.
Sadly, you can’t take the Battlestar Galactica with these pre-historic creatures. But swipe through to find out how to make the most of your time with the dino gang at the theme park. Chris Pratt not included, unfortunately. For that, you’d have to go catch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in cinemas from June 7.

Tip #1: Go early for the all-new live action show, Jurassic World: Roar!
You get to see what happens when a Velociraptor escapes and a mighty T-Rex threatens to upend the peace and safety of the park in this show within a show. How meta. Some advice: It pays to come early to chope a spot in the front. You don’t just get to be closer to the action at what’s billed as the largest stage production for a daytime show at the park, you may even get picked to be part of the show. No prior experience with dinosaurs required.

Knock, knock. Who’s there?
Nothing much, just a Tyrannosaurus Rex coming to wreak havoc.

Thank god it's fly day
Don’t worry, this is a performer, not a member of the audience. These are some picky Pteranodons we have at the show, okay?
At the Hollywood Lagoon Stage at 1.30pm, 4pm, 6.30pm. Additional show at 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Tip #2: Ham it up for the camera with a dinosaur at Jurassic Encounter
You get to be on camera with dinosaurs in the middle of the streets of New York at this augmented reality zone which lets you interact with them up close. See yourself on a giant screen shimmying with a T-rex or cozying up with a triceratops. How fun is that?

Watch it
Check your self-consciousness at the door and forget about the bystanders watching you. Instead, focus on interacting with your dino pals, even if it’s just on screen. Or should we say, especially since it’s on screen, because you’ll get to pick photos and videos of your, er, performance after that. A much better deal than what Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard got, if you ask us.
At the New York Public Library zone. Available all day.

Tip #3: If you can’t beat ’em, train ’em at the Raptor Training School
This is one for budding palaeontologists or zookeepers. You not only get to come face to face with a velociraptor, you learn how to train him to do your bidding at this 20-min crash course (various timings throughout the day). Dinosaurs, they're just like your cute lil' pupper at home.

Will this dinosaur go rogue?
That depends on how fast you pick up those training skills. Where’s Cesar Milan when you need him?
At The Lost World. Sun to Thur at 12pm, 2pm, 4.15pm and 6pm; Fri and Sat at 12pm, 2pm, 4.30pm, 7pm, with additional sessions at 11.30am and 7.30pm on Sat. Limited slots. Registration at the park is encouraged.

Tip #4: Don’t miss out cute dino-themed dishes.
After all that flurry of dino-tivity, your stomach and Insta-feed would love this. There’s a cute Dino Egg Pasta, comprising a huuuuge meatball atop a bed of squid ink pasta (it’s slightly spicy, so take note, kiddos) and a T-rex Stacker (yummy fried chicken and waffles), among others. Available at all restaurants in USS.

A Singapore construction site has reached 6 million accident-free man hours, marking a major safety milestone in one of the country’s highest-risk industries. Accident-free man hours refer to the total number of hours worked across all workers without a single injury, often used as a benchmark for workplace safety performance in construction projects. While such achievements are widely celebrated, Singapore’s construction sector continues to face challenges, with dozens of deaths and major injuries reported in 2025 alone. At the same time, improvements in worker welfare — including upgraded dormitories with better living conditions, recreational facilities, and shared spaces — are becoming a key part of the broader push towards safer worksites. #8dayssg #8dayssgtrending #singapore #sgnews #migrantworkers

Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong recently spoke in Parliament about the need for Singapore to conserve energy, suggesting measures such as using fans instead of air-conditioning and taking public transport where possible. While the message highlighted the importance of reducing electricity consumption, netizens online had mixed reactions, with many pointing out the challenges of cutting back on air-conditioning in Singapore’s hot and humid climate, with the haze being a recent issue. The discussion reflects the balance between sustainability efforts and everyday, often necessary, comforts in a tropical city. #8dayssg #8dayssgtrending #singapore #sgnews #sgviral
