Staycations are set to resume as hotels in Singapore can now apply for approval to accept bookings for leisure stays once again, according to a Singapore Tourism Board announcement on Jul 3. Hotels have not been able to accept bookings for stays since the circuit breaker in April, save for those assigned as stay-home notice (SHN) dedicated facilities. Either way, hotels around Singapore have been kept busy stepping up on safety and sanitisation protocols as they prepare to welcome guests for staycations once more.

8Days.sg checked in with three hotels — all are in the process of getting the go-ahead and a definitive reopening date from authorities — to find out how they’ve been gearing up for reopening. These are on top of other mandatory safety measures that you should be used to by now: SafeEntry check-in, temperature checks and health declarations, keeping a safe physical distance from others and safety management measures in F&B and recreational facilities in the hotels.
