Harry Potter fans are in for a wand-erful time.  There’s lots of magic, mystic and picture-perfect moments at the Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience which is happening from Feb 3 at the Coastal Trail at Sentosa.

We took a walk on the wild (wizarding) side for a night at a preview of the Forbidden Forest experience exploring the interactive displays, duking it out in wand duels and discovering other magical wizarding things. Here’s a peek at what you can expect.

The highlights for us were coming face to face with a hippogriff and conjuring our patronus, so be sure not to miss those. That said, there are a few practical things that muggles like us should take note of.

It takes anything from 45 to 60 minutes to complete the Forbidden Forest trail. It’s quite an easy stroll, and on a clear evening, it’s an enjoyable, breezy adventure around the Coastal Trail in Sentosa.

But we know the weather in Singapore can be more unpredictable than an attack by Dementors, so bring an umbrella or poncho in case it rains. And yes, while it’s a walk in the park, you still want to be wearing comfortable shoes as there are hardly any seats along the way (we only spotted one bench). And don’t forget the insect repellant, of course.

There are also Harry Potter themed food stalls nearby (and one within the trail as well), where you can fuel up on Butterbeer ($14) and adorable Harry Potter themed grub, including a chocolate frog mud cake ($12) and a Golden Snitch cake pop ($10). If you fancy a magical memento for the night, pop by the merch stand as well, and grab a wand, or three.
