There are 1,000 vacancies to be filled.
First, there were safe distancing ambassadors, then there were test swabbers and swab assistants. And now, digital ambassadors.
The Covid-19 pandemic has seen the creation of new jobs in Singapore. And if the latest hiring spree goes well, there’ll soon be hundreds of Digital Ambassadors imparting digital skills to seniors and hawkers.
Multiple job ads by various agencies to hire Digital Ambassadors have popped up online since May 27.

Successful hires will impart basic digital skills to seniors in one-to-one or small group settings, or coach hawkers in adopting e-payment for their businesses. (Is this a sign that contactless or e-payments are here to stay, even as dining in may possibly eventually be allowed in Phase 2? Perhaps.)
