Essential workers like delivery workers, private car hire and taxi drivers, and safe distancing officers now have a place to eat.
You’ve seen the viral photos of the taxi driver eating in his car boot, or the delivery riders squatting by the roadside to have their meals. Since the no dine-in rule kicked in during Phase 2 (Heightened Alert), frontline workers in essential services have been forced to find makeshift spots to have their meals during their work day.
Yes, they can tapow food, but where do they go eat if it’s not practical for them to head home, and they're not allowed to eat at hawker centres or food courts?
Thankfully, there are now options for people who need to dine out because of their jobs. Here's a handy list of places in Singapore offering a space for essential workers to eat and rest.

Eating at void decks and public parks is not prohibited, but safe distancing should be maintained and essential workers should carry identification to prove that they’re employed in their line of work, lest safe distancing ambassadors or enforcement officers request to see it.
