Get Your Cameras Ready: A Fiery Horse Carousel Is Galloping Across CapitaLand Malls This CNY

The festive Carousel of Prosperity installation is giving Chinese New Year celebrations at Funan and Westgate a vibrant, contemporary spin.

We didn’t expect to stop mid-mall to take photos of horses this Chinese New Year — but that’s exactly what happened, and we couldn’t quite rein it in.

CapitaLand Malls’ festive Carousel of Prosperity campaign, featuring a vibrant rotating carousel with brightly-coloured horses has taken centre stage at Funan.

Created to usher in the Year of the Fire Horse, the installation reimagines traditional Chinese New Year symbolism through a contemporary, photo-friendly lens — the kind that naturally slows footsteps and sends phones straight into camera mode.

Surrounding details such as golden fortune coins, sculptural clouds and lucky stars complete the vibe, adding plenty of huat to the festive atmosphere. It also gives families and friends the perfect reason to pause, offering a shared moment that goes beyond shopping and eating.

Where to catch the Carousel of Prosperity

The Carousel of Prosperity will be making two stops this Chinese New Year — first at Funan’s L1 Atrium until Feb 8, before moving to Westgate’s L1 Courtyard from Feb 9 to 22.

Saddle up for snaps: A playground for your CNY outfits

There’s more to explore at the festive playground. One highlight at the Gallop and Glow photo zone is a photo backdrop set against dynamic firework-inspired motifs and featuring the adorable Scarlet Prosperity Horse. Designed for cheerful, auspicious snapshots, it’s an easy stop for capturing Chinese New Year moments with family and friends — especially if you’ve planned your OOTDs.

Trot over for photos with these spirited horses

The festive storytelling continues through a series of CNY-themed standees, each carrying its own auspicious message. From a pair of Prosperity Horses symbolising harmonious blessings, to playful figures holding red packets and a spirited steed riding atop a koi crowned with a golden ingot, it’s all about abundance, generosity and prosperity flowing into the year ahead.

Don’t leave without a spin at the photobooth machine
For those who enjoy taking something tangible home, there’s also a photobooth machine offering Chinese New Year–themed instant photo strips featuring the Prosperity Horses. Each session costs $5 and includes two printed strips of the same design — a fun keepsake for you and your loved ones.
