This Is How I Unlocked $30 eCapitaVoucher By Doing My Usual Shopping & Dining At These 4 Malls

I turned my usual errands into a chance to earn some rewards. Because being super-efficient is what we Singaporeans do best, right?

This Is How I Unlocked $30 eCapitaVoucher By Doing My Usual Shopping & Dining At These 4 Malls

Can a regular shopping spree really turn into a $30 voucher payout? Well, it did for me, all thanks to the Shop To The Top campaign at  Bukit Panjang Plaza, Lot One, IMM and Westgate.

With a beauty wish list to tick off, bedroom essentials to grab, and WFH snacks to stock up on (not to mention dinner plans with the squad), I figured this was the best time to turn my usual errands into a chance to earn some rewards. Because killing two birds with one stone — aka being super-efficient — is what we Singaporeans do best, after all.

And so, feeling like a mix of Ethan Hunt from Mission: Impossible and Rebecca Bloomwood from Confessions of a Shopaholic, I set out for the ultimate retail therapy quest, ready to conquer the malls and collect those vouchers like Thanos gathering Infinity Stones.

The plan was simple: hit up my favourite stores, grab everything on my list (making sure to hit least $80 per category; I’ll explain why later), and make the most out of every dollar spent. Spoiler alert: I nailed it.

Mission #1: Beauty & Fashion at IMM

I kicked off my shopping spree with a bang at IMM, the go-to spot for discounted branded goods, especially if you’re on the prowl for beauty and fashion must-haves. As a self-confessed beauty junkie, I made a beeline for the Novela Outlet (#02-41), where I found myself amidst a treasure trove of branded beauty products at irresistible prices.

Some women cannot leave the house without a bold red lip. Others feel incomplete without their favourite piece of jewellery. For yours truly, nothing completes an outfit more than a great fragrance, which explains why I’m obsessed with collecting perfumes and instantly added two new bottles — the whimsical Anna Sui Sundae ($66.50) and the delightful Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne ($171.50) — to my basket.

But this shopping trip wasn’t just about me. I also picked up some goodies for my loved ones: the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel-Creme ($89.60) and the Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal-Extract Alcohol Free Toner ($76.30) for my mum, the SK-II F.T Gentle Cleanser ($71.40) for my guy, and two bottles of the Lancome UV Expert Youth-Shield Aqua Gel ($62.30 each) so my BFF and I can both protect our skin from nasty UV rays.

I admit, I went a little crazy, but with prices like these and the promise of a $5 eCapitaVoucher (which I can use for future shopping sprees, yay!), who wouldn’t?

Mission #2: Home & Electronics at Westgate

From IMM, all I had to do was follow the sheltered J-Walk bridge like Dorothy skipping down the Yellow Brick Road. But instead of the Emerald City, I was off to Westgate, home to a wide array of electronics and home goods stores.

I definitely rejoiced when Japanese furniture and home accessories giant Nitori (#03-44 to 45) set up shop on our sunny shores. No more jetting off to the Land of the Rising Sun for stylish and affordable home essentials — now, it’s just a quick trip to Westgate. And today, I was on a mission to snag some small yet game-changing bedroom accessories.

First up was the N-Cool Sheet Topper ($39.90), my new best friend in battling Singapore’s relentless heat with its moisture absorption properties and — as its name suggests — cool-to-the-touch fabric. Perfect for keeping sweaty snoozes at bay.

I paired it with the N-Cool Pillow Pad ($9.90) and the Fluffy Pillow N-Cool ($14.90) for a sleep setup that promises to be comfier than a cloud made of marshmallows. As if I didn’t already have enough trouble waking up for work in the morning.

Sweet dreams: I sleep better with the N-Cool Sheet Topper, N-Cool Pillow Pad, and Fluffy Pillow N-Cool.

I also couldn’t pass up the Soft Diatomite Kaiteki Bathmat ($19.90) because there’s nothing quite like stepping onto something plush and cosy after a long shower. It’s one of those little luxuries that makes you feel like royalty, even on the most mundane days.

Step on it: Feel like a million bucks with this bathmat.

By the way, everything is currently on sale, so if you’re thinking about giving your home a little refresh, now’s the time to swoop in before these steals are all gone.

Mission #3: Lifestyle at Bukit Panjang Plaza

Ever watch a Korean drama or variety show where everyone’s slurping down the most delicious-looking ramyeon or munching on some interesting-looking snack, only to suddenly feel like you have to get a taste of it, too? Even if it’s already 1am and you’re already in bed, pyjamas on?

That’s me. Which is why K-Market (#02-23 to 26) at Bukit Panjang Plaza absolutely needed to be my next stop. Where else am I going to find such a wide range of authentic Korean goodies and groceries, all of which are imported directly from the land of kimchi itself?

K-Market at Bukit Panjang Plaza (#02-23 to 26)

In fact, as the friendly uncle manning the store proudly told me, K-Market exclusively carries items that you can’t find anywhere else in Singapore. So, if a trip there isn’t on the cards for you anytime soon, don’t worry. You know where to go now.

Anyway, I couldn’t walk past the fridge without grabbing my favourite Binggrae banana milk ($3.90) and, of course, some good ol’ Jongga sliced kimchi ($7.40). Because let’s face it, kimchi really does go well with everything.

Grocery shopping: I wonder what mum is making for dinner? Bet it goes with these.

And of course, what’s a Korean snack run without chips? By the time I finally brought everything to the counter, I realised I had stocked up on enough goodies — just a little over $80 worth of them — to keep my snack drawer full for weeks. So, I know I’m more than covered whenever I suddenly get the munchies re-watching Crash Landing on You for the nth time.

Stockpile: Top up your next binge-watch supplies.

Mission #4: Food & Beverage at Lot One

All those intense retail adventures had me starving, and so I set off for my final stop of the day: dinner with my pals at Sanook Kitchen (#01-06 to 07) in Lot One, which I’ve come to realise is a pretty underrated gem for dining out with family and friends. Who said Choa Chu Kang is boring? Got authentic Thai cuisine leh.

Choosing what to eat was no easy feat with so many tempting options on the menu. But we eventually settled on the Red Tom Yum Chicken Soup ($9.47), which was a burst of flavours and perfectly complemented the Homemade Prawn Cake ($14.27) and Stir-fried Kai Lan with Mushroom ($9.47).

Dig in: Who's in the mood for Red Tom Yum Chicken Soup, Homemade Prawn Cake, and Stir-fried Kai Lan with Mushroom?

The undisputed ‘centrepiece’ of the meal, though, had to be the Deep-fried Sea Bass with Thai Mango Salad ($39.45), an eye-catching fish dish so artistically arranged it — as cliche as it sounds — looked too good to eat. We’d be lying if we said we didn’t spend a solid five minutes taking pictures before we allowed anyone to take the first bite.

Yummy: Don't forget to order the Deep-fried Sea Bass with Thai Mango Salad at Sanook Kitchen.

We washed everything down with Iced Thai Milk Tea and Iced Thai Green Milk Tea ($4.68 each), the perfect sweet ending to a seriously satisfying meal.

How to get the $30 voucher payout

And just like that, I completed the CapitaLand Shop To The Top challenge. Here’s how it works: all you need to do is spend at least $80 in any of the categories — Beauty & Fashion, Food & Beverages, Home & Electronics, and Lifestyle — and you’ll earn a Mission Stamp and a $5 eCapitaVoucher (eCV). Complete all four categories, and voilà, you’ve snagged $20 eCV. In the magical world of ‘girl math’, it’s like you’ve just saved yourself $20, simple as that.

Oh, and if you’re one of the first 1,000 shoppers to complete all four missions, there’s an extra treat waiting for you: a bonus $10 eCV. That’s a total of $30 eCV in the bag. And here’s another sweet deal: by completing any two missions in the same mall, you’ll unlock same-mall Event eVouchers for some exciting activities.

Just keep in mind that you’ll need to spend at least $20 per receipt to qualify for a Mission Stamp. You can only complete one mission per day at each mall, and you’re limited to earning one eCV and one Mission Stamp per day, per mall. Also, note that only the first 50 eCV redemptions per mission are guaranteed, so it’s a good idea to act fast. After the first 50 redemptions, only the Mission Stamp will be issued.
