Travel in the time of COVID-19 is getting harder. Not only is it nerve-wracking to navigate through airports or to be stuck with strangers in an enclosed plane cabin for hours on end, more countries are now closing their borders in an effort to halt the outbreak. Malaysia is the latest country to announce a “restricted movement order” with effect from tomorrow (March 18), scuppering many Singaporeans’ weekend getaway plans. 

But if you still want a staycation to take your mind off the supermarket panic hoarding, you can do so now. In fact, with the dwindling number of tourists here, even upscale hotels in Singapore are offering attractive packages to entice locals to do a staycay.
