Movember is upon us again. The annual charity event encourages men to grow out their facial hair for the whole month of November to raise awareness for men’s health. Andaz Singapore is partnering with Singapore’s very own Soul Hair Studio for a pop-up barber shop happening every weekend in November. Guests will be able to choose how much they’ll pay for a wet shave or beard trim, with all proceeds being donated to The Movember Foundation. Back again and this time, bigger and better, is Sentosa’s Island Lights. Kicking off with a one-weekend-only showcase on Nov 16 and 17, guests can enjoy the ONE 15 Christmas Boat Light Parade™ where boats will be decked out in LED lights and decorations, providing a perfect backdrop for your ‘gram. Expect a 135m-long space that contains seven unique light art installations created by local and international artists. This is one for family fun. The world’s first ever Sesame Street Run will be taking place at Our Tampines Hub, where you can participate in the 5km fun run or the family-friendly 2km leisure walk around Tampines. With various Sesame Street mascots hanging out around the route, there are tons of opportunities to snap a pic with your favourite characters. Stick around after the run for a carnival with interactive booths featuring Cookie Monster and Elmo sure to excite the kids. There's also a massive 4m-tall Sesame Street logo made of cookies that might just break the Singapore Book of Records.

If the name of musical stage show A Spoonful of Sherman sounds familiar, it’s probably because Oscar-Winning brothers Robert and Richard Sherman wrote lyrics to the catchy song that is A Spoonful of Sugar from Mary Poppins. The musical follows the story of three generators of Sherman family songwriters played by local musical theatre talents Hossan Leong, Aaron Khaled, George Chan, Vanessa Kee and Mina Ellen Kay. Get ready to bop along to the Sherman family’s famous nostalgic tunes from films like Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Jungle Book.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and the musical will be staged in Singapore for the first time. The musical follows titular character Sweeney Todd’s return to London after being banished by a corrupt judge who raped his wife. He goes on a killing spree to exact revenge. The bodies are, well… Anyone craving human, er, we mean, meat pie? Well, you would probably like those from Tony Award winner Lea Salonga’s character, Mrs Lovett. With a killer cast and a four-decade-old soundtrack to die for, what more can you ask for?

Award-winning comedian and Crazy Rich Asian Ronny Chieng is back in Singapore after 4 years with a brand new stand-up comedy show. The 33-year-old law student-turned funnyman was born in Johor Bahru, raised in Manchester and Singapore. Chieng has been making a name for himself in the Hollywood, starring in Crazy Rich Asians being a correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, and even landing his debut Netflix comedy special that he just filmed. Before catching that on Netflix when it drops, may we suggest catching Ronny in the flesh right here on our shores.

Forget about snapping Insta-worthy pix of our monuments and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of our historic landmarks through sketches done by three artists from the silver generation. This exhibition features poignant sketches of 18 national monuments like the Sri Mariamman Temple and Sultan Mosque. It travels through seven locations islandwide, beginning with the Jurong Regional Library (until Jun 29), before moving on to the likes of the Marine Parade Public Library and library@harbourfront.
