This Alice In Wonderland-Themed Lantern Installation Is A Whimsical Twist On Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations

Forget itty-bitty lanterns in the shape of, well, lanterns. At VivoCity, the lanterns are larger-than-life and shaped like giant teapots, teacups, card soldiers, quirky cats and rabbits and a giant Red Queen.

For its mid-autumn celebrations this year, the mall has built a dazzling display of lanterns and lights on its Level 3 Sky Park inspired by the timeless tale of Alice in Wonderland. In the day, the installation is magical enough, but at night is when the characters come to life with the glow of probably a million LED lights.

There are five Instagrammable zones: Down the Rabbit Hole, where you walk through a tunnel filled with floating teacups, cards and keys; A Mad Tea Party, where a 5m-long dessert table awaits; the Tunnel of Soldiers, a 40m-long tunnel of roses guarded by illuminated card soldiers; the magical Pool of Lights; and the piece de resistance, The Queen's Castle, where an imposing Red Queen glowers down on her impertinent subjects.

There's also an Augmented Reality (AR) Hunt, where you can 'catch' as many characters as possible in 60 seconds in Wonderland to win prizes.

VivoCity's Curious Adventures in Wonderland is on at L3 Sky Park till September 22.
