At 5pm Today (April 7), Benjamin Kheng, Adrian Pang, Gurmit Singh & Other Celebs Will Take On The #HelpPerformingArts Challenge To Aid Arts Community

It will happen on each celeb's Instagram account starting at 5pm, and is organised by Pasar Glamour to help arts practitioners struggling because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

At 5pm Today (April 7), Benjamin Kheng, Adrian Pang, Gurmit Singh & Other Celebs Will Take On The #HelpPerformingArts Challenge To Aid Arts Community

In a very unique performance that's so last minute there were probably no rehearsals and definitely no dress runs, personalities in Singapore will rally to help fellow actors, musicians, dancers, choreographers, playwrights, designers, stage crew and other self-employed and freelance workers in the arts community.

The Covid-19 outbreak has ravaged the performing arts industry, with many facing financial pressure as projects are cancelled and the future remains uncertain. Spearheaded by Janice Koh, Pam Oei and Petrina Kow, who also run the annual Pasar Glamour charity jumble sale, this fundraiser is called the Pasar Glamour Art Aid, and aims to raise $50,000 to provide urgent financial assistance (one-off $500 grants) to freelancers working in the performing arts industry.

Thanks to an anonymous donor and funds previously raised through Pasar Glamour’s pre-loved charity sale in 2019, $50,000 has already been commited, which can help 100 individuals. The aim is to raise $100,000 in total to support more freelancers in need.

You can donate at https://rayofhope.sg/campaign/pasarglamourartaid.

And from 5pm, tune in to the individual Instagram accounts of these personalities (who are, of course, circuit-breaking at home) on IG Live to see them take on the #HelpPerformingArts Challenge, which is a fun tongue-twisting song challenge inspired by a theatre warm-up song, to raise awareness for the Pasar Glamour Art Aid.

Adrian Pang, Gurmit Singh, Benjamin Kheng, Rozz, Chua Enlai and Joanna Dong are just some of the many celebs who will take on the #HelpPerformingArts Challenge on IG Live on April 7 to help arts practitioners affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
