3 Things To Do This Weekend (Jan 12 to 14)

Admire street art from around the world, groove to the tunes of a famous indie band, and do your part for the community.


#1: Art from the Streets

This exhibition features works by some of the world’s top street artists, including the famous Banksy, Futura, Blek le Rat, but also upcoming new art sensations like Singaporean artist Speak Cryptic and Felipe Pantone from Spain. Trace the history of 40 years of Street Art, from its beginnings to its evolution as a contemporary art form.

#2: Fleet Foxes: “Live” in Singapore

Grammy-nominated indie folk superstars Fleet Foxes (pictured) come to Singapore for the first time to bring their renowned blend of instrumentation and soaring harmonies. Their latest album Crack Up was a critical and commercial success, much like their previous releases Fleet Foxes and Helplessness Blues. Fans can expect hits like ‘Fool’s Errand’ and ‘Mykonos’.

#3: SG Cares Carnival

As part of the nationwide SG Cares movement, this carnival brings together volunteers, beneficiaries, social enterprises and community groups, such as the Yellow Ribbon Project, Singapore Red Cross and Very Special Arts Singapore, to celebrate Singapore’s efforts to be caring. Featuring fun-filled and interactive activities for the whole family, this carnival will have Mediacorp artistes in attendance, like Nat Ho, Jae Liew and Charlie Goh from Tanglin.
