Zoe Tay’s My Guardian Angels, English Soap Opera Kin Rule Mediacorp’s List Of Most-Watched Dramas Of 2020

In the year of COVID-19, circuit breaker and stay-at-home entertainment, shows about family dominate Mediacorp’s list of most-watched dramas — with long-running English serial Kin and and Zoe Tay’s single mum-themed My Guardian Angels coming out on top, according to data released by SG-TAM (Singapore Television Audience Measurement) and Omniture.

Kin, now in its third year with more than 560 episodes streamed, was Mediacorp’s most-watched English drama. From soap opera to Hokkien opera: Titoudao: Inspired by the True Story of a Wayang Star, the adaptation of Goh Boon Teck’s acclaimed play, was huge with audiences too. Kin was the only drama in the overall list of top local English shows, which was dominated by news and current affairs programmes.

Over on the Chinese-language side, My Guardian Angels, starring Zoe Tay, Kym Ng and Pierre Png, was the most-watched Chinese drama. In the variety show category, we really, really loved The Sheng Siong Show.

A star is born: Koe Yeet in ‘Titoudao: Inspired by the True Story of a Wayang Star’. A Mandarin-dubbed version also cracked the top 10 Chinese-language series.
